What is Your Organizing Style?

A famous quote from Oprah: "I believe this to be true".

Well I know this to be true from personal experience: if you create an organizing system that is right for you, it will be simple and easy to maintain. It will give you more freedom and peace of mind.

What is your organizing style?

Before you start organizing any space in your home determine the organizing style you prefer, the one that will work for you; what organizing tools appeal to you and why.

Here are a few tips we have used with our clients and they work.

  • Are you an early riser, up before the rooster or do you stay up late at night surfing the net and mornings are anything but fun?
  •  When you start clearing the clutter you don't stop till everything is done or perhaps you prefer working one hour with 10 min. breaks?
  • Do you prefer open shelving storage or is an attractive and closed cabinet the only way to go for you.
  • Do you prefer filing every day or can you commit to once a week?
  • Do you clean your house on a daily basis or once a week at a scheduled time?
  • Find your strengths, your ideal work time and use this time to do your least favourite tasks leaving the easier tasks for your off-peak times.
