Protect Your Photos

When I started my business a few years ago an older lady called me to organize her memorabilia which included a few boxes of pictures. She was planning to do scrapbooking with her daughter and granddaughter.

As I predicted she had pictures scattered all over her house, garage and even the attic. Nothing prepared her or me for the disaster that was about to happen that day. More than 3000 pictures going back fifty years were damaged by heat or cold, glued together and not salvageable. We tried everything but the damage was done and she had to accept what happen and go on. I will never forget the look of horror on her face when I reluctantly told her what had happened. I don't want you or anybody else to go through the unfortunate experience that happened to that lovely lady.

Simple Tips to Organize
and Protect Your Photos

• Gather all your pictures in one room or one corner of the room.

• Decide what kind of storage you will use to store your pictures.

• Start with the most recent pictures and work backwards.

• Share duplicates with your family or friends.

• Store all negatives in a small box, in a fireproof safe if possible (if you don't have a fireproof safe considering trading with a friend, that way if you have a fire you won't lose all your memories).

• Use shoes boxes to organize your pictures. The boxes are free.

• Organize your pictures by year or event. If you want to be more specific label Susan's Graduation Party 1995.

• Ask your family to help you. Order pizza and make it a great family night. Ask your children, sisters or brothers if they want to have pictures of their grandma, grandpa or great aunt. Remember to write names on the back, even if they seem obvious to you - they won't to your descendents.

• Share the pleasant memories from the past and laugh a lot.

• Decide on final storage; will it be acid fee boxes, photo albums, scrapbooking or digital?

• Use shadow boxes to display your favourite cherished memorabilia.

Your trip to Europe shouldn't be in a cardboard box, it will look great in your living room or office wall. Your family, friends or clients will learn so much about you just by looking at your display.

There is no right or wrong storage, whatever works for you and your family. Be patient this is on going project, time consuming but worth pursuing.

Liberate Your Garage!

For many families, the garage is the most disorganized space in the house. It tends to be the place to store, stash and dump everything we don't need every day or want anymore.

Sure, we might justify this by calling the garage our "temporary storage area", but years read the rest of the article here

Testimonial

As many of you know for the last few months I have had some serious health issues. As soon as I was diagnosed and released from the hospital I was on six different medications all prescribed by my doctor whom I like a lot. For the last eight months I faithfully took my medications and because of the side affects I got worse instead of better. I finally got the courage to read the side affects these medications were causing. When I couldn't walk or work because of the severe pain in every inch of my body I contacted Mike Lang and started the treatment. I'm still with Mike and will be for as long as he is willing to put up with me. Mike is also treating some members of my family as well as some of my friends and clients; we call him our miracle man.

Today I have no pain, my energy level is high and I'm looking forward to a great future.

I owe a lot to Mike Lang.

Thank you Mike, God bless you and your family.
