I like this inspirational quote a lot. We expect to achieve certain results and success, but are not willing to put in the effort to achieve it. Perhaps it’s good old procrastination and the many fears that are attached to it. I had an amazing experience the other day where the client had a fear of changing and moving on. She also had the challenge of where and how to start.

My last question on my Client Consultation Form is “When do you think we should get started”? For a second this young lady thought that I lost my marbles. When I asked her when is the best time to start something she doesn’t like, she completely shut down and didn’t know what to say.

When I suggested that we start right then and there. After a few seconds trying to decide what to do with this crazy lady, she agreed. In the next two hours we accomplish a lot, she was absolutely amazing, cooperative and ready to have control over her mountains of papers and her life.

I received an amazing e-mail of her gratitude and the sense of pride she has in herself. Both of us got rewarded, learned a lot and moved forward with our lives. The lesson we all could learn from this experience is; not to attach any of your emotions to the chores you have to do. The saying “Just do it, you don’t have to like it” says it all.

TV's "Consumed" Looking for Families.

The other day I received a phone call from Fleur Matthewson a Researcher for TV’s “Consumed”. They are looking for families that are willing to participate in their show, get their whole house de-cluttered, organized, cleaned and staged.

If you are overwhelmed with clutter and chaos in your home, please consider giving them a chance to change your and your family life.

Since my organizing approach is very similar to the Consumed I wholeheartedly recommend this TV show to anybody who needs help in organizing and moving forward in life. In home counselling for our clients is provided by Gena Burzan. By helping our clients explore feelings and emotions that are often related to their life experiences Gena is able to help our clients consider new ways of doing things. Working in our clients’ homes in a confidential setting,she listens attentively to our clients, offering them the time, empathy and respect they need to express their own feelings and perhaps understand themselves from a different perspective.

• Choose the time when your energy level is higher than usual
• Use a kitchen timer to keep the track of time
• Do it in increments of 30 min.
• Trash the broken decorations and lights
• Donate or give to your family the good stuff - if they want it
• Ask your family, friends or professional to help you.
